In good writing, words become one with things.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

The people who influence us most are not those who buttonhole us and talk to us, but those who live their lives like the stars in heaven and the lilies in the field, perfectly simply and unaffectedly. Those are the lives that mould us. ~Oswald Chambers

If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.

John Quincy Adams

"A Letter to My Children About Marriage" by Kelly

A good article shared by Brendan's Aunt Alda on Facebook... this website is pretty interesting too if you have time to browse around :) I am always working to become a better and less selfish wife and mother... God help me as I remember to be more Christlike and not just to make all the beds!

Birthday Surprise

My sweet wife cleaned our garage out for me in one day of very hard work - I've been agonizing over the hazardous obstacle course in there for years. Also my car has been cooking in the sun. So in true sweet Sarah style, she cleaned a very very messy garage, cleaned out my car (peeeeyooo old food), anddid it all with a smile. She arranged donations, electronics disposal (heavy!), and I don't know what else to make it all happen. Thank you, sweety!

Sarah Melissa Johnson

Sarah Melissa Johnson (Ingersoll) is my wife. I've begun to realize how important it is for a person to openly confess their love for their spouse on a regular basis. Something more than an arm around the shoulder or a kiss on the cheek. So I want to tell you about Sarah, and what a beautiful person she is. This is a little scattered, but I have to finish it before the end of the day :)

Someone Once Said

"Someone once said... I’ve learned that silent company is often more healing than words of advice."

Really good advice! But not what I was thinking about :) Netherwood's preacher, David, loves to say "Someone once said...." In fact I've heard that a lot lately. It's like a preacher trick or something. I've always prickled a bit at it, thinking "Ya right, YOU just made it up" or "Was it Nietzsche or something? Someone you're unwilling to credit?"
