This is just a quick update to say how much I love my girls. Sarah and Aria are beyond sweet. Even when they're irritable they're sweet :) They truly balance me out... I hope I can be what they need as well.
This is just a random picture I have here at work of Aria. I'll put one up of Sarah when I get home. They're both sick right now, and it's so sad. Too bad that means I have to do twice as much stuff around the house. OR I could just put it all off until Sarah feels better :)

So apparently, sheep in Scotland are shrinking. This flies in the face of traditional evolutionary theory. That can't be right... hmm... Global warming, of course! Yay, problem solved! Now we don't have to question the theory we've been teaching as fact for all these years. Careers and reputations are on the line, for goodness sake! Come on people. This is one of a million evidences that evolutionary theory (macro-evolution) holds about as much water as a sponge on a hot tin roof during global warming. It's the greatest thing going since flat-earth! Read this amazing piece of journalism and scientific deduction here |

So I read this book a while back... In the Name of the Wind, by Patrick Rothfuss. Stinking story made me cry. Another one of my silly fantasy books. I think I like fantasy because it is entertaining, stretches my imagination, usually contains only small amounts of sappy romance, and typically contain lots of sword-play. Anyway, I occasionally come across an author that slaps me in the face and tweaks my heart strings one way or another. Depending on the slap and the strings I either promptly discard the book, shudder, spend a few days depressed, and move on, OR I become obsessed and read every book the guy (or gal) ever wrote as fast as possible. I was reading Mr. Rothfuss('s?) blog the other day. Like many fantasy authors, he's funny, geeky, and fairly worldly. So I can't really post links to his blog without warning there are some swear words. And I'm only linking to his blog so he doesn't get mad when I post this picture: |

This is part of a conversation I had with my Dad. It's a bit one sided since I don't post his thoughts, but it's mostly just rambling thought anyway. I haven't posted here in a long time. This stuff takes so much energy! And it often leaves me mildly depressed - ugh. |

Bruce Wayne (batman) is killed. By his father. Man that's sad, and of course ironic. I'm sure he's not gone for good. They rarely do that, especially when said character is making good movies. Most likely it's a soap opera "twist" or something. “You realize in their absence how valuable the character is,” said Dan DiDio, DC’s senior vice president and executive editor. “Bruce Wayne will always be back as Batman someday.” Batman is one of those charaters that reminds us you don't have to have superpowers to be a hero. True, he's rich. Hmm. Maybe you don't have to be rich either. But that sounds a lot more difficult... And now I'm reminded that we rarely point out the real heroes. That patient father, the repentant child, the ones who die for the people they love, the people who never stop believing. Hmm, it seems like maybe I did read a book like that once. I'll have to think about it... |
